John was one of my favorite cousins as a child and the one closest to my age. And, he was a boy. My cousins on my daddy's side were all girls and I saw them more often, so John was a stand out. He was handsome and funny and his older sister Carlann was great too and beautiful. Time marched on and once again I got to know John, but as an adult. He was still handsome and funny and I enjoyed spending time with him. I loved when he told stories passed down of our moms being first cousins and their visits as children. I especially loved the stories of my mom, as an only child, throwing temper tantrums we never knew about. Hilarious.
John will be missed.

I never met John personally but we met on Facebook and both served in the US Navy though we never served at the same time we were both aboard the same Ship the USS Forrestal CV59. We would talk and share stories of our times in the Navy and even personal family life. I never got to see John but felt like he was a neighbor or even brother and a big brother to me. I will surely miss our conversations. He was indeed a good man
