My dad and John flew together for Delta. Dad really liked John. Outside of work our families would get together for dinner. After dinner you could always find dad and John somewhere up to their necks in tools.

John was my grandfather, I met and spoke to him only a few times, he seemed like a nice man and it was nice to stumble across this sight.
I flew with John as his co-pilot on the DC-8 in the late 1960s. He was one of my favorite captains & he taught me a lot about "flying the line". I have fond memories of those times. He was a fine gentleman & role model.
John was a pleaseure to fly with. A gentleman, pilot and mentor. Found memories of Delta Airlines before it and the City of Atlanta grew up. My condolences to the Ashbaugh family. God Bless.
John will be missed by all that knew him.
He used to come into my dads store in Fayetteville (Tee Jays) for many years and he was always one of our very favorite people that we looked forward to seeing.
WISH THE ASHBAUGH FAMILY THE BEST ...THIS OLD GENTLEMAN WILL BE MISSED AND REMEMBERED FONDLY.........
