John L. Keller's Obituary
John L. Keller transferred to his home on High December 22, 2023. He was born October 29, 1935 in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was raised in and around Meeker, Colorado. John graduated from Rio Blanco County High School in 1953. He served in the US Army 1954 – 1956. He served at Fort Belfort, VA, Ladd AFB, Fort Wainwright Army Base, Fairbanks, Alaska and Big Delta Alaska. He earned a BS in Geology attending both the University of Alaska and Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. He has worked as a mechanic, started his own land surveying business, the Dept. of Agriculture – Soil Conservation Service, Texaco Co., the Dept. of the Interior – Geological Survey, Conservation Division and the Bureau of Land Management in Farmington, NM where he retired from in 1998.
He met and married Barbara F. Palmer, June 11, 1965 and with her influence became a Christian. They lived in Kremmling, CO. and Durango, CO. In 2004 Barbara and John pulled up stakes and moved to West Fork, AR where they are members of First Baptist Church.
John is survived by his wife Babara Keller and sister-in-law, Charlotte Palmer. He is preceded in death by his parents Anna and Walter Keller.
Services will be at First Baptist Church West Fork, AR, December 26,2023 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens, Carroll County, TN on Hwy. 22, December 28, 2023 at 11:00 am.
