John Paul Budrunas' Obituary
John Paul Budrunas, 93, of Farmington, AR died Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born in Orange, MA in 1915, the son of Paul Anthony Budrunas and Kastincija (Connie) Resevicius Budrunas of Lithuanian descent.
Mr. Budrunas attended Boston College and later edited a weekly newspaper in the Boston area. He enjoyed writing fiction and in 1944 was published in Outdoor Life Magazine. He was also an Army veteran who served in WWII.
In 1957 John and his family moved to Florida where for several years he was in real estate. He later accepted a position with the Florida Department of Transportation as a right-of-way agent where he worked until his retirement in 1981. John moved to Fayetteville in 2000, loved the beauty of Northwest Arkansas and enjoyed bird watching. He was an avid reader and crossword puzzle fan.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife of 52 years, Erma Swanson Budrunas. His brother Bronislaus "Brony" Budrunas was killed in action during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Willis Budrunas, three children Pete and Helen Budrunas of Tuscon, AZ, Mary Budrunas of Orange, CA, and Paul Budrunas, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
John was Catholic and a member of St. Martha's church in Sarasota, FL.
Inurnment will be in Palm Gardens, Sarasota, FL.
Friends and family will gather for a celebration of life at a later date at the Budrunas home.
