Dr. John Reed Welker's Obituary
Dr. John Reed Welker, a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away October 25, 2011 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born December 1, 1936, in Rexburg, Idaho, the first son of Jesse Reed Welker and Mary Vilate Kauer Welker. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Marie Jensen Welker; three children, Elizabeth Anliker, Sheri Lyn Welker, and Jeffrey Ronald Welker; five sisters and one brother.
Dr. Welker was a Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering at the University of Arkansas. A gifted but very private man, he shunned awards and accolades of any sort, considering his work to be its own reward. At his request, there will be no service.
