JOHN RICHARD TATOM
John Richard Tatom, age 67, of Fayetteville died in Fayetteville Wednesday June 29, 2011 after a courageous 6 year battle with kidney failure.
He was born on a hot July 18, 1943 to Helen and Ferrell Tatom in Stamps, AR. He had degrees from Ouachita Baptist University and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He was a retired Air Force Lt. Colonel and a 35 year employee of the Arkansas Division of Legislate Auditors. He was a long time member of Central United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. His favorite hobbies were collecting baseball cards, vintage Western movies, ushering Razorback sports, traveling, enjoying good food and reading mystery novels. He cherished his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by wife, Ann; Sons John Jr.(April), and Matthew; Grandson Spencer; Sister Kay Farley(Buddy); Niece Rosemary Wiegand(James); Nephew B.J. Farley(Patti); Great Nieces Audrey
Hendricks (Robert) and Grace Farley; Mother-in-law Idabel Pollard; and Sister-in-law Kathy Pollard.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 5th at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville with burial at Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
