John T. Johnson's Obituary
John T. "Big John" Johnson, 85, of Cassville, Missouri died Sunday, February 25, 2007 in Cassville. He was born September 2, 1921 in Knobel, Arkansas the son of Warney and Pearl Norton Johnson. He retired in 1978 from his position as truck driver for Arkansas Best Freight, he served in the 274th Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Springdale.
Survivors include his wife Mattie Johnson of the home, step-son Mike Luna and wife Leslie of Cassville, Missouri, step-daughter Gayle Radford and husband Charlie of Lincoln, Arkansas, step-son Jerry Luna and wife Terry of Lincoln, Arkansas, 10 step-grandchildren, 27 step great grandchildren, and 4 step great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Johnson, sister, Genivive Cooper, and granddaughter, Ginger Harrington.
Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Temple Baptist Church in Springdale with Rev. Don Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
