John Vernon White's Obituary
Mr. John Vernon White, 79 of Fayetteville, AR passed away Friday, July 28, 2006 in Fayetteville. He was born May 5, 1927 in Kansas City, KS to John Josiah and Effie Blenna (Jones) White.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, retired mechanical trades specialist for the University of Missouri, and attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Josiah White, Mother, Effie B. White, sister Vera Colin, and brother Virgil Norman White.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie M. White, two sons, Fred White of St. David, AZ, Norman White of Fayetteville, AR, four daughters, Sharon Plum of Bonner Springs, KS, Judy Hamm of Independence, MO, Charlene Green of Coolidge, AZ, Lorene Gordon of Fayetteville, AR, three sisters, Jean Steva of Raytown, MO, Jacquelyn Wilk of Sanger, CA, Janet Baeskens of CA, one brother, Vinson White of Livermore, CA, twenty two grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 3, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, August 4, 2006 in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Bishop Barry Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
