John Raymond Wolfe, Jr., 87, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Born in Houston, Texas, to John R. Wolfe, Sr. and Lula Schroer Wolfe; he moved to Rogers in 1940. John was a 1951 graduate of Rogers High School, where he was class president and played on the Rogers football and basketball team. He also served in the U.S. Army. He then worked as a mechanical engineer for Wendt-Sonis, which later became Rogers Tools works in 1986. Upon retiring he and family moved to Prairie Creek on the golf course, to continue his pastime of playing golf and fishing on Beaver Lake.
John married Helen R. Carden, of Russellville, AR in 1953 in Rogers and had 3 children. After his wife’s death in 1991, John was remarried in 1992 to Rogers '51 classmate Marjorie Ford Marugg, with two children. Marjorie later passed in 2013 followed by her daughter, Tami Marugg of Sarasota, Fla. John was also proceeded in death by a brother, Robert L. Wolfe of Dallas, TX.
He is survived by his son, John R. Wolfe, III of Pearland, TX; two daughters, Barbara Wolfe Dominguez of Eastvale, CA and Beverly Wolfe Nollet (husband, Jean Philippe) of Eastvale, CA; two granddaughters, Allison Nollet of Ecassinnes, Belgium and Tia Dawn Meier (husband, Paul) of Pearland, TX; three great-grandsons, Zach, Alex and Isaac; step-daughter, Mikki Bates (husband, Mike) of Tulsa, Okla.; and three step-grandchildren, Joseph, Katherine and Matthew.
John was a man of Christian faith, attending the Baptist church in early years with his wife, Helen; after her death and remarrying, he became a member of the Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of John R. Wolfe, Jr. to the American Cancer Society, Center of Nonprofits at St. Mary's, 1200 W. Walnut, Suite 2313, Rogers, AR 72756.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, February 14, 2020 at Stockdale Moody Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery.
