Johnny Paul Alaniz's Obituary
Johnny Paul Alaniz, age 76, of Rogers passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in Rogers. He was born March 15, 1947, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Emmett and Della Lopez Alaniz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Alaniz; parents; and his brother, Rex Alaniz.
He served in the marines from 1965-1968. He served in the Vietnam War, later serving on the USS Fremont, and then was stationed in Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and Millington, Tennessee. After the military, he worked at Arkansas Western Gas until he moved to Rogers, where he worked at Glad in quality control until retirement.
Johnny and his wife, Karen, were married for 41 years. They loved to garden and spend time with their grandchildren. He also loved to watch the Kansas City Chiefs games every weekend.
He is survived by his three children: Matthew Alaniz and his wife Barbara, Kimberly Alaniz Jones and her husband Adam, and Deanna Miranda; a sister, Stella Farrar; two brothers, Fred Alaniz and Eddie Alaniz; eight grandchildren, Addison Miranda, Brennan Miranda, Ava Miranda, Shelby Alaniz, Mattie Alaniz, Chandler Alaniz, Aaron Smith, and Callie Smith; and six great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Rogers, with Funeral Service beginning at 11:30. Burial will follow at the Fayetteville National Cemetery with military honors at 1:30 p.m.
