Johnny E. Turner's Obituary
Johnny E. Turner, Sr., age 81, of Fayetteville, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2014. He was born March 3, l933 in Durham, Arkansas the son of Walter and Mary Milam Turner of Durham, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Turner; his parents, Walter and Mary Turner and four brothers, Doss, Leon, Cecil and Norman Turner.
He was an avid fan of Brentwood Music Show. He loved blue grass music and considered Brentwood part of his family of friends. He loved to garden. He had a lawn mower business for several years with friend Claude Miller. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He will be missed by many who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rosa Lee Turner; a daughter, Cindy Smith and husband David of Springdale; a son, Johnny Turner, Jr. and wife Hazel of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Joshua Stephens, Jennifer Harris and Marshall Turner, all of Fayetteville; two great-grandchildren, Sarah and Owen Harris of Fayetteville; two sisters, Rosie Vanover and husband Harrison of Durham and Velma Harris and husband John of Wichita, Kansas; a brother, Leonard Turner of Wichita, Kansas and many nieces and nephews and friends of 81 years.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday at Moore’s Chapel followed by burial at McCord Cemetery.
