Joseph Patrick Sweeden's Obituary
Joseph Patrick Sweeden, affectionately known as "Pat," was born on January 21, 1952, in Throckmorton, Texas, to his late parents, Fred and Lucy Sweeden. On August 3, 2023, he departed this earthly life, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Pat's passing occurred in Rogers, Arkansas, surrounded by the people he loved.
Throughout his life, Pat had enjoyed riding motorcycles, listening to music, writing short stories and playing his guitar. A devout Catholic, he found solace and strength in his faith, guiding him through life's trials and triumphs.
Professionally, Pat was a dedicated corporate trainer, sharing his knowledge and expertise with others to help them grow and succeed. Pat was a quiet man and his smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Patricia Sweeden, and their four children: Heather (David) Moore of Bentonville, Aaron Sweeden of Little Rock, Kara (Matthew) Sweeden Welch of Benton, and Quentin Sweeden of Temple, Texas.
Pat's memory will live on through his cherished grandchildren: Zach (Ashley) Moore, Seth (Pagan) Moore, Alyssa Sweeden, Tes Sweeden, Will McPhail, Maddox Welch, Mason Welch, and Chloe Sweeden. He also leaves behind his siblings: Jack Sweeden, Jim Sweeden, Dick Sweeden, Juanita Ryan, Katherine Henderson, and Teresa Henson, along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his son, Vance Sweeden; his siblings, Burt "Shorty," Shirley, and Bob, whose memories he now joins in eternal peace.
A private interment will be held at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the Parkinson’s Foundation
