Josephine E. (Senato) Huth's Obituary
Josephine E. (Senato) Huth, 89, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away, Tuesday, January 17, 2006 in Fayetteville. She was born May 1, 1916 in New York City, New York the daughter of Salvatore and Caroline (Livote) Senato. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1938 from Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York where she continued to work and teach nursing in Brooklyn area hospitals until entering the U.S. Army Nursing Corps in 1942. Her service during WWII began as a 2nd Lieutenant with the 37th General Hospital in the campaigns of North Africa and Italy. She was discharged as a Captain in 1946. She was known for her volunteer work in the Detroit, Michigan area including organizing Detroit?s first Polio Vaccine Clinic in the early 1950?s, as well as the PTA in area schools. In Rogers, Arkansas, she continued volunteer work in Blood Services and area blood pressure clinics
She is survived by; one daughter, Sharon Wilson of Fayetteville, Arkansas, one son, Robert Huth of Clarkson, Michigan, two brothers; Arthur Senato of Arlington, Texas, John Senato of Palm City, Florida, one sister; Sally Marinello of Port St. Lucie, Florida, four grandchildren; Amy Thompson, Alissa Huth-Bocks, Benjamin Wilson and Daniel Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Robert Huth.
A Rosary and funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, January 20, 2006 at the St. Josephs Catholic Church of Fayetteville, Arkansas, with Reverend Paul Worm officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers, Arkansas, with full military honors.
