Joyce Camille Nelson's Obituary
Joyce Camille Nelson, age 73, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She was born September 28, 1950 in West Palm Beach, Florida to Glenn Stafford Nelson and Martha Virginia Jones Nelson.
Passionate, smart, witty, determined, and playful, she took after both of her parents, whom she loved. She received a BSE in Biology from the University of Arkansas, and, in subsequent years, during and after her marriage to Charles S. Wuest, whose military career took them around the country and overseas, she pursued a variety of jobs, including teacher, legal assistant, financial associate, mortgage consultant, administrative specialist, and realtor. She cultivated abiding friendships, served in churches, and raised her two children, whom she taught to be loving, compassionate, and curious.
During her time as a realtor, she attended First Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, for many years, where she found joy and fellowship singing in the church choir. Her artistic nature found various forms of expression throughout her life, but singing was an abiding and life-long passion, and she had a beautiful voice. She also thrived in her work as a realtor—where her sensitivity, precision, congeniality, and care were appreciated by her clients. In 2012, she moved back to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to help her sister care for their father. Throughout her life, she provided love, advice, and nurturance to her children, her family, and her friends. She will be missed deeply.
She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Anne West-Mussolini, and her husband Patrick Mussolini of Stamford, Connecticut; her son, Charles Wuest, and his partner Carrie Johnston of Dallas, Texas; her sister, Glynda Dickinson of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and her nephew, Brian Dickinson, and his partner Sarah Struthers of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Visitation will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 13th, at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Monday, November 13th, at Moore’s Chapel with burial to follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
