We called her Judy - though sometimes in joking we used Judith or Jude or Judea. I often thought she was one of those people who are called "a force of nature."
While she was open and friendly to almost everyone, she could instantly become "mama bear" in helping and watching over her kids - no matter their age.
She could "make things happen" when she put her mind to it, and was a persuasive and gifted speaker, writer, business owner, advisor, and friend.
She opened many people's eyes to possibilities in this life - and beyond. And when she learned better, she did better - as in her conquering her addiction and then helping many others learn to do the same!
One of the things I remember best about her was her ability to have fun - and create a good time out of simply seeing things in a humorous way or choosing to walk away from difficulties beyond her control.
I will always think of her as a Spiritual person - and associate her with parties and lots of people gathering for fun, whether bonfires in summer, gatherings at her store when she had it, or spontaneous "let's go to supper" invitations to whoever was handy.
She will be missed by many who knew her, and also many who only met her once or a few times.
I hope her transition was peaceful and gentle, and that her family and friends are able to think of her as just walking into another warmly comfortable room, another beautiful garden, a new place to investigate just what the "paranormal" looks like from "the other side." I think she would love it if she could meet some "spacemen" or "aliens."
I can almost see her setting another party in motion, laughing with family and friends who arrived before she did, and making plans to welcome her loved ones when they join her. I think she will always be "Herself."
