We're going to miss you, Aunt Kate! Going to miss your generous spirit and your zest for life. Shortly after we moved back to Canada, we started receiving parcels from Arkansas, one of which was, I think it's fair to say, a little oversized. There were always books and smaller gifts, but on this occasion, as the huge parcel was opened, I think it's fair to say I was skeptical that an enormous, round, stuffed lamb, about the size of eight basketballs, was worth sending all that way, to a one-year-old who was maybe a quarter its size.
Well, very quickly I was proved wrong. Lamby became Bea's treasured friend, and has managed over the years to embark on a life of adventure. Lamby has been strapped into strollers, taken along on car rides, sleepovers, and occasionally, if I'm remembering correctly, I think Lamby braved the snow and went/was sent on a few toboggan rides. Lamby always maintained a friendly disposition despite the many times he/she was tossed up and down the stairs by both Bea and her grandad. Aunt Kate, you always had amazing instincts about what sparked a kid's imagination.
Sending love to all our Arkansas cousins, Rosie, Chris, Adrian, and the families. Big hugs to Auntie and to mom. Wish we could be there.
Love Luke, Nina and Beatrice.
