Katherine Claudette White's Obituary
Katherine Claudette White, age 79, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at her home. Katherine was born May 5, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas to Eugene Joseph and Mary Leolyn Kinahan Kirk.
Katherine graduated from Kansas City University in 1955 with a BA in biology and chemistry. She became a TWA hostess after graduation and worked for two years before marrying in 1957. She continued her education at the University of Arkansas, received a MS degree in economics in 1979, and taught the freshman American economic history course for a number of years. She was a 33 year survivor of breast cancer. She was a dedicated wife, a loving mother, and a caring teacher. Katherine Claudette is loved.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Leonard White, three daughters: Linda Marie of Seattle, Washington, Paula Lynne Santanello of Bowie, Maryland, and Leslie Ann White of Fairbanks, Alaska; two sons: Dale White of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Thomas White of Cabot, Arkansas; one brother Gene Kirk of Apple Valley, California; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the family home, 2595 E. Manor Drive, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Bagpipes will be played at 7:30.
