Kathryn Renfroe Harris' Obituary
Kathryn Renfroe Harris died on April 20th at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and succumbed to her sickness after enduring for two and a half years.
Kathryn was born September 10th, 1983, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where she was raised by her parents, David and Jerilyn Renfroe. She was the fourth of five children with a younger brother, an older brother, and two older sisters. She was the darling, the fun one, and to her younger brother, a mischievous mentor. After graduating from Fayetteville High School in 2001, Kathryn completed a degree in food science and nutrition from Brigham Young University. Kathryn would go on to work as an English teacher, an exercise instructor, and a real estate agent. But her true pursuit in life was having fun. She focused her passions on water skiing, snow skiing, mountain biking, and any other adventure to be had.
In 2004 Kathryn found an equally adventurous man and married Boyd Harris. Over the next several years they had four sons together. Sadly, In July of 2020 she and her four boys suffered the loss of their good husband and father. Kathryn is survived by her four sons: Benjamin, Chase, Miles, and Cole, as well as her parents, David and Jerilyn Renfroe, and four siblings: Heather (Mark Wagstaff), Allen (Rebecca Renfroe), Jenalyn (Josh Engstrom), and Kevin (Morgan Renfroe).
Kathryn was a person of devoted faith and spent much of her time serving others in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. More than anything though, she poured herself and her love and confidence and positive energy into her four sons. Her primary animating purpose, especially as her grip on life began to fail, was to have one more adventure, or even a few more moments with her boys.
Kathryn made life richer for everyone who knew her. Her single-minded devotion to all things fun combined with an emotional generosity that never passed judgement or hesitated to love completely, drew people to her. Her bright presence will be sorely missed here, and just as surely welcomed by her family, friends, and loving husband on the other side of death.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Later day Saints, 6738 Lynch’s Prairie Cove in Springdale. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Private burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
