Kathryn "Kitty" Kerr Teters' Obituary
Kathryn “Kitty” Kerr Teters, age 97, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at her home in Springdale. She was born on August 16, 1927, in Cartago, CA, to David and Grace Bradford (Kerr). She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Jimmy Teters, her parents, five brothers, and one sister.
Kathryn was the matriarch of the Teters family, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt who played an important role in all their lives. Her famous meatloaf and macaroni and cheese dishes were the highlight of any family gathering. She enjoyed playing card games with family, attending her great-grandchildren’s activities, and never missing a Dodgers game.
For decades, Kathryn was a dedicated in-home daycare provider before working as the cook for Salem Lutheran Church school for 20 years, finally retiring at age of 85. Kathryn spent her last few years enjoying the beautiful friendships she made at the Springdale Senior Center, where she showed off her competitive card-playing and bingo skills.
Kathryn is survived by; children Myron (Terri) Teters of Springdale, Kathy Teters of Springdale, and Barbara (Gary) Hudgens of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren Christina (Wendell) Wilson, Shawn Teters, Nicholas (Elisabeth) Teters, Landon Teters, Melissa (Gene) Holland, Cory (Allison) Teters, Jimmy Teters, Tyler Hudgens, Kathryn Hudgens and Daniel Hudgens; 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Berry Street Baptist Church in Springdale.
