Kathryn Louisa Logue's Obituary
Kathryn Louisa Logue, of Springdale, Arkansas, went home and met Jesus on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the age of 92. She was born March 31, 1931 at War Eagle Township in Benton County Arkansas to Claude Lee Clardy and Ora Ann Shockley Clardy. She was their 5th baby girl in line of 6 siblings. She grew up a farm girl and learned how to work hard, never give up and love her country dearly. She flew her flag and was so proud of the freedom that it stood for. She loved big!! It radiated off her face all her days when she smiled. She lived a full and happy life, so proud to be a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved Jesus and was baptized in Beaver Lake with her husband and her mom. She held Psalms 23 close to her heart and the words of Amazing Grace and enjoyed keeping her Bible within an arm’s reach away. Mom loved her job and the people she worked with but was excited for retirement when the day came to be home with her family. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and AT&T as a long-time telephone and switch board operator. She was also a red dog for life and a proud graduate of Springdale High School, class of 1950. She never missed a Hog game, if it was on TV, and could out “pig sooie” anyone in the room. She enjoyed keeping a clean house, helping her husband in their garden, canning their crops, making jellies and cooking for family dinners and especially loved preparing holiday turkeys and pies by the dozen. She did this through the years, teaching us all, three generations deep, along the way what she learned from her mom and generations before. We thank you mom, for doing this life so well and being such a strong example for us all, we love you more and we will see you again before long.
Kathryn is survived by her children; Lea Ann and Steve Rosamond of Springdale, Lynda Starr Logue of Springdale, and Jeff Logue of Springdale; her younger sister Patricia June Hopkins; her grandchildren, Kristen and Jon Bodenstein, Todd and Savannah Rosamond and Kathryn-Rose Starr Logue; and her great grandchildren Jacob (Jake) and Kathryn (Katy) Bodenstein and one on the way, Walker Rosamond. She was preceded in death by her parents and four older siblings; Ellsworth, Harold and Hurley Clardy and Claudia Thornsberry; by the love of her life, her husband for 57 years, Earl Logue and her grandson, Nicholas Rosamond. A celebration of life service for Kathryn Logue will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Cross Church. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. before the service in the Cross Church chapel.
