Kathryn "Kay" Vondeen Yerton's Obituary
Kathryn Vondeen Yerton of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born on December 31, 1930, to Mittie and Clifford Gorrell.
Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Yerton, her parents, sisters Dayle Denney, Dorace Bishop, and Mary Belle Lea. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Cullison and husband Roger of LaGrange, Texas; her son, Daryl Yerton and wife Marita of Farmington, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Dane Yerton (Heather), Grayson Yerton, Lisa Martinez (Jose), Valerie Suzanne McElfresh (James), Matthew Solomon (Ari), Christopher Cullison (LaReina), Jessica Caldwell (Brian) and Natalie Cullison; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
For 17 years, Kay served as a secretary at the University of Arkansas, where she was known for her professionalism, warmth, and kindness. She was a devoted member of First Assembly of God Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life.
Visitation will be held at Moore’s Funeral Chapel on Monday, September 1, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A memorial service will take place at Moore’s Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Kay will be laid to rest at Brentwood Cemetery.
