Biography
Katie Ann Watson, 71 of Winslow died Sunday in Fayetteville. She was born October 7, 1940 in Prairie Grove, Arkansas the daughter of Raymond Chase and Jean Clark Chase. Katie dedicated her life to volunteering to youth organizations including scouting and 4H before becoming a charter member and officer of VFW Post 10843 and a member of VFW ladies auxiliary. Katie was preceded in death by her husband, of 54 years, Bobby G. Watson and son, Raymond Keith Watson. Survivors include 3 daughters, Vicky L. Dayle of Hot Springs, AR, Mary K. Young of Kalamazoo, MI, Susan A. Watson of Winslow, AR; son, Bobby J. Watson of Fayetteville; sister, Erma J. Chase of Winslow, AR; brother, Richard K. Chase of Winslow, AR; 2 grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters. The family request that memorials in her name be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 1 Children’s Way, Little Rock, AR 72202-3591. Private family service will be held, Thursday, April 5, 2012. Moore’s Chapel handled the cremation arrangements.
