Kay Savage Burd's Obituary
Kay Savage Burd, of Springdale, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 76 years old from dementia. She was born in Garden City, New York on September 2, 1946, to Alfred Orville and Jene Allen Savage. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Allen Savage.
Kay was devoted to her family and friends, and was an involved community leader. Her passion projects were the Junior League of Fort Smith, the Fort Smith Symphony Board, Harbor View Psychiatric Hospital Board, and the Saint Edwards Hospital Board.
Kay is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Johnson of Birmingham, Alabama (daughters Ryan & Maddie Kay); Casey Burd of Springdale (daughter Katherine and son Isaac); her son Kelsey Burd of Fayetteville (wife Caroline, son Ned and daughter Margaret); her brother Gary Savage of Houston (wife Dayna); her sister-in-law Bonnie Savage Rooker of Madison, WI; and many other family, friends, and loved ones.
Please join the family for a Celebration of Life at the Bonneville House (218 North Seventh Street, Fort Smith) on Saturday, November 12 from Noon to 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Western Arkansas Technical Center at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Foundation (P.O. Box 3649, Fort Smith, AR 72913).
