Kerry Eugene Sheldon's Obituary
Kerry “Sam” Eugene Sheldon, 55 was born October 5, 1957 to Dr. W.G. and Mary Jon Sheldon in Ponca City, OK. He graduated from Ponca City High School, where he was class president, co-captain of the wrestling team, staff writer and cartoonist for the student newspaper. He was also asked to produce the only one-man art show ever exhibited at the high school. In addition, he coached a Special Olympics team. He attended college, majoring in art, until stricken with mental illness.
His compassionate spirit and strong commitment to his family continued throughout his life. Helping to feed the homeless was his latest passion.
He died at his home on June 14, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father in January 2013. He is survived by his mother, his brother James Michael Sheldon, and sisters Becky Lingelbach and Dr. Shannon Wright, as well as several adoring nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held by the family and will be announced at a later date.
