Kimberly Marie Lowe's Obituary
Kimberly Marie Lowe (LeVasseur), 43, beautiful and beloved wife, mother, and daughter tragically passed away on October 8th, 2024.
Kimberly was born April 6th, 1981 in Washington D.C. at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She married Zachary Scott Lowe on May 30th, 2007, and they were sealed to each other for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a mother with the birth of their daughter, Reagan McKenzie Lowe on September 5th, 2009. She loved her family deeply, loved being a wife and mother, and loved her cat and little dogs.
Throughout her life, Kimberly was a portrait of grace and resilience as she endured the challenges of congenital heart disease. Christened a “miracle baby” after surviving her first of ultimately more than a dozen open heart surgeries in her 43 years, she touched thousands of lives during her mortal journey. She’ll forever be remembered for her joy for life and love for her friends and family. She was selfless and relentless in her efforts to lift up those around her, even as she struggled with her own health challenges, and her sense of humor and infectious laugh lit up every room. To know her was to love her.
Kimberly passed peacefully after an arduous and heroic 7-month hospitalization at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where she fought with everything she had to survive a combined heart and liver transplant, and ultimately a second heart transplant. She was an inspiration to everyone as she stayed so positive, enduring to the end through a journey that so many would have shrank from. Her condition had finally begun improving and she was getting stronger, with the prospect of returning home by Thanksgiving, when an infection struck which she ultimately succumbed to in her fragile and weakened state.
Kimberly is survived by her husband Zachary, her daughter Reagan, parents Doug and Sandy LeVasseur, mother and father in-law Kay and Scott Lowe, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
