Kody West Owens' Obituary
Kody W. Owens was born to Theda Mae Cook and Kenneth Labe Owens in Farmington, New Mexico on October 5, 1967. He passed away in Fayetteville, Arkansas on September 25, 2024. He was 56 years old.
Kody was most proud of his son Kody T. Owens. One of his favorite things was sitting in their scibby’s on Sunday mornings playing video games. His sense of humor was unmatched; Kody T. inherited this from his dad. There were always laughs when he was around, even in the end. Kody joined the Navy at a young age and served on the USS Missouri as an electrician’s mate. He served during the Persian Gulf War. He was very proud to serve his country. He had so many talents and mastered many things. He could play the drums like no one’s business and played in several bands in NWA. He was an amazing artist. His scratch board art won several awards. There was almost nothing that Kody could not do. He attended culinary school and graduated from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute, 3rd in his class. Kody was an amazing chef. Kody was a very compassionate human and would give what he had to those around him. He was talented in so many ways and will be missed tremendously.
He was preceded in death by his Granny Esther Gohee, his mom Theda Mae Cook, his Stepdad Bob Cook, his brother Kevin Owens, and his sister Kristy Grigg.
He is survived by his dad Kenneth L. Owens and wife Anita; his son Kody T. Owens and Allison; his brother Kendall Owens and wife Andrea; his brother Kalin Owens and wife Kristi; his brother Kameron Owens and Casey; His sister Kendra Walker and husband Ronald’ his nephews Jacob, Austin, Hunter, Ben, Thomas, Isaac, and Owen; his nieces Taylor and Katie; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers are: Kody T. Owens, Hunter Owens, Ben Owens, Thomas Owens, Kameron Owens, Erick Castillo, and Cristo Martinez.
Graveside service will be held at Fayetteville National Cemetery on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 11:30 AM under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
