Laird Charles Page's Obituary
Laird Charles Page, age 72, of Fayetteville, AR died Tuesday, January 28, 2025, after a long battle with lung disease. He was born on July 16, 1952, in New York City, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Nicholas Page and Lydia Marie Brinkman.
Laird grew up in New York in the midst of the counter-culture of the 1960s. He lived for several years at The Land, an avant-garde artistic community in Stony Point, New York. Laird lived in Fayetteville for the last forty years of his life. Brilliant and multi-talented, Laird could fix, hack, design, and construct just about anything, especially if it plugged into an outlet or had a gas tank like his computer or his old Mustang and Corvette. A talented musician, Laird played guitar and piano, performing with several rock bands in his younger days. In recent years as his health declined, he loved working through his pain with carpentry and gardening projects, and was a talented cook who prepared meals with love. Near the end he was able to reconnect and hang out with many old friends on Facebook. Laird was a survivor, street-smart, a wheeler dealer who cherished every minute of life and managed to outlive many of his peers. He had his flaws but also had a big heart and great love for his son, Nick, his daughter, Lily, and other family and friends.
Survivors are his children, Nicholas Laird Page, Lily Williams and two grandchildren; a sister, Susan Page Howland and her husband, John Sedgwick Howland III, and two nephews.
Cremation arrangements are by Nelson Berna Funeral Home. Burial is private.
