Beck was my coach at Mizzou. Until then, I thought all college coaches must be good. Little did I know. He took a group that was average on a good day and made us into one of the best o-lines in the country . Beck had an enormous impact on my life. What I learned about the little things and doing things the right way continues to pay dividends today. You will be missed. Phillip Greenfield. #53.
Larry was truly one of a kind. Larry strived to be the best in his life and he made everybody around them better as well. He’s a great guy and a great mentor for many of us. Throughout my Nfl career I had a lot of coaches, but no one like Larry Bechtel. Before every game he would write a two or three page list of tips and reminders, and all of them were worth reading. Larry taught you to believe in yourself and in the system, and if you did, you would not become a better player but a better person. Rest in peace, Larry and know that you work here on earth served God‘s purpose.
