Larry B. Presley's Obituary
Larry B. Presley, 61, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at his home. He was born July 31, 1949 in Greely, Colorado, the son of Paul and Viola Presley. He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Bentonville.
Larry was a retired letter carrier of the Fayetteville Post Office and a former dairy farmer and a letter carrier of the Bentonville Post Office. He graduated from Bentonville High School in 1967 and married his wife of 43 years, Martha Lou Searcy, that same year. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served on a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1968-1969.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Presley, his sister, Betty Crabtree, and his mother-in-law, Kathleen Searcy.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Lou Presley of the home, his mother, Viola Presley of Bentonville, a daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Paul Bodnar of La Crescenta, California, a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Diane Presley of Springfield, Missouri, a brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Kay Presley of Noel, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM.Thursday, February, 17, 2011 at First Christian Church of Bentonville with Pastor Gary Lunsford of Wiggins Memorial United Methodist Church and Rev. Don Morrow of First Christian Church of Bentonville officiating. Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the First Christian Church of Bentonville or Wiggins Memorial United Methodist Church of Fayetteville.
