Latnay Earl Scott's Obituary
Latnay “Earl” Scott, age 54, of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away on October 24, 2023, at his home. Born on March 1, 1969, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Earl was the child of Warren Scott and Melba (Miller) Scott Dunn. Earl grew up in Fordyce, AR and graduated from Fordyce HS in 1987. He participated in Boy Scouts of America and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. His participation in the Boy Scouts fueled his later passion for adventure. He graduated from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science in 1991.
After graduation, Earl worked for Helena Chemical in Memphis, TN. In September of 1999, Earl moved to Northwest Arkansas and started work at Tyson Foods in Springdale, becoming a valuable member of the team. Outside of work, he found joy in collecting Coca-Cola bottles, amassing a diverse collection that filled his home. He enjoyed eating many different types of food, one of his favorite restaurants was Chick’n Headz in Fayetteville and he loved any kind of barbeque. He never met a rib he didn’t like, but his favorite barbeque was Charlie Vergo’ Rendezvous in Memphis, TN and he took any opportunity he could to go there. Earl was also an intrepid world traveler, exploring various corners of the globe. He also enjoyed taking long walks in the park and down the street, often with his children and Xayah (pet Berna Doodle) playing Pokémon Go.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Warren Jr. Earl is survived by his three children, Kyle Scott (21) and fiancée Hannah Turner (21), Sydney Scott (15), and Bryce Scott (15); fiancée, Kristin Roessler Higgins and her children Will Higgins (20) and Drew Higgins (17); mother of his children, Marsha Blum; and close friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2023, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to African Wildlife Foundation at https://secure.awf.org/page/119125/donate/1.
