Laurance (Larry) Lee Trice's Obituary
On September 21, 2024, Laurance (Larry) Lee Trice, loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend, passed away at the age of 82 after a long battle with dementia.
Larry was born in Paragould, Arkansas to William and Lucille (Goalby) Trice. He graduated from Paragould High School in 1959 and continued to maintain many friends in his beloved hometown. Larry was commissioned to the United States Naval Academy after acceptance to the United States Military Academy Prep School (USMAPS) at the age of 17. He later transferred to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance. Larry was a true patriot, passionate about his country and taking every opportunity he had to support our veterans.
Larry had many passions and interests in life, including golf and movies, and was an enthusiastic Arkansas Razorback fan. He was also an accomplished general aviation pilot, owning and flying various small planes for many years. Larry introduced his passion for flying to his wife, Monica, the love of his life. Larry and Monica were married in 2004 at Fellowship Bible Church in NW Arkansas where Larry discovered his one true eternal passion -- following his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Larry and Monica were blessed for 20 years of marriage, sharing their faith and volunteering in Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered 12-step ministry Larry introduced to Fellowship Bible Church over 20 years ago.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, William, and his mother, Lucille, brother, David, and young son, Laurance, Jr. He is survived by his wife Monica, his daughter, Shannon and grandson, Andrew, his brother, William (Bill) and his wife, Linda, his sister-in-law, Nancy Trice, as well as several nieces and nephews, their spouses and children, grandchildren, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Chapel, Fellowship Bible Church of NW Arkansas, 1051 W Pleasant Grove Rd., Rogers, AR 72758 on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 10 o'clock in the morning, followed by placement of Larry's ashes in the church's Columbarium and Prayer Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the Celebrate Recovery Ministry at Fellowship Bible Church NWA by visiting https://www.fellowshipnwa.org/give/ and selecting the CR Rogers General Fund.
