Lawrence A. Lewis' Obituary
Lawrence A. Lewis, age 97, of Fayetteville, formerly of Farmington, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in Fayetteville.
He was born July 23, 1914 in Farmville, Virginia, the son of M. G. and Ora B. Brooks Lewis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene E. Lewis and son, Larry Lewis.
He was a United States Navy officer of World War II and a member of Farmington United Methodist Church. He worked with the Veterans Administration in Little Rock and later for the Job Corp for Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Sondra Lewis of Rogers; a sister, Ora Belle Rinehardt of Hope, AR; two grandsons, Kurt Lewis and his wife, Chris of Alexandria, VA and Eric Lewis and his wife, Roxanna of Jacksonville, FL and his five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 2:00p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24th at Moore’s Chapel.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 25th at Farmington Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
