Leatha Ruth Stith Youngman Brandenburg's Obituary
Leatha Ruth Stith Youngman Brandenburg, age 88, of Rogers, AR, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She was born October 22, 1936, in Coldwater, Kansas, and was a daughter of the late Marion Francis Stith and Edna Lindsey Stith. Also preceding her in death was a grandson, Randy May, a sister, Pansy Stith Miles, and two brothers, Don and Lonnie Stith.
After graduating from high school, Leatha began her bookkeeping career in Wichita, Kansas where she met and married Bill Youngman. They had 55 years together before his passing in 2012. They shared a love of bowling and together accumulated hundreds of trophies and patches. Their family enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and berry picking. Leatha was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting family dinners as well as holiday parties. She could play a mean boogie woogie on the piano or sweet hymns. Later in life she started painting and mastered several different mediums. Her family gave her the most joy and she was always ready for a domino or card game. In 2013, Leatha married Darrell (Coach) Brandenburg. They shared a passion for baseball, basketball and football. Leatha was a member Robinson Avenue Church of Christ. She was a sweet and caring lady, loved by many.
Survivors are her daughters, Catherine May (Joe), Nancy Ashley (Michael); her bonus children, Robin Brandenburg (Jean), Clay Brandenburg (Linda), Pamela Christensen, all their children. A brother, Lloyd Stith (Linda); her five grandchildren, Ryan May (Kirsten), Rhonda Porter (Ed), Jeremy Ashley (Tracie), Naomi Core (Andy), and Nanci Early (Brian); eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 28, at the Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. She will be buried in Morriss Cemetery near Hindsville.
