Lee Roy Owen, age 86, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born on May 16, 1934, in Lowell, Arkansas, to William Roy and Floy Jane (Wells) Owen. He is preceded in Read Obituary
I had the pleasure of working with Captain Owen when I was with the Washington County Sheriffs Department. He was the kindest and most caring individual I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I have fond memories of deputies gathered in his office before or after a shift change and listening to stories he would share over the course of his career, many had us laughing. He was a kind and gentle supervisor and friend, he had a strong faith and it showed. He will always be remembered and greatly missed.

Jawana and Christy and Families,
This is Sheila Stacy Suvino. Bob and I wanted to tell you both how sorry we are for the loss of your wonderful dad and before that, your wonderful mother. Lee and Pat will always be remembered by me and my family as great friends to my mother and dad. The four of them shared so many years of great friendship and created so many memories together. I always felt the genuine love they had for my parents when they visited us!
And then there was the musical relationship between Lee and my dad, Olen. They played together and enjoyed each other’s company as musicians for so many years. Band practice at our house on a Friday night was “just a way of life” in my home. Your dad had such a great voice and so much talent!
But I also know that your dad was a super man with a genuine penchant for law enforcement for many many years. He was fair and worked hard at his job, in whatever role he earned. I respected him greatly for that.
On a personal note, the best carnival prize I ever won was in Tontitown at the Grape Festival. He walked the midway with me, in his uniform, and surprise, surprise, I managed to “win” a pink poodle that sat on my bed for years in pride. (Of course, I know my win was precipitated by his dapper uniform and commanding tone).
We belonged to the same church, and I was so happy when he joined. I was able to see him and listen to him when he gave speeches for the Gideons, who we ultimately chose to donate to.
I wish you all a good life ahead. I know you will miss him, as you do your mom and Juanelle, just as I miss my mother, dad, and Art. But you have each other, and you will see them all again one day. My address is in their address book where we exchanged Christmas cards every year, and I will certainly miss that. But please feel free to write and give me your addresses so we don’t lose touch. You all will always have a place in my heart.
With love and sympathy,
Sheila Stacy Suvino and Bob Suvino
