Carl Yates, age 88, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday April 1, 2018. Carl is survived by his wife of 67 years, Doris Ann Broyles Yates; a daughter, Sandy Yates Rainey of Fayetteville; a son, Dr. Carl Douglas Yates of Columbia, S Read Obituary
Doris Ann and family, I am so very sorry to learn of Carl's passing. I so loved being with you all on the many wonderful trip and cruises we embarked on over the decades. Carl Yates was my all time hero. I worked for him and Mr. Mac and Terry Williams full time for my last two years of college and for several more months until I went into the Navy. I never worked for a finer individual who taught me more about civil engineering than I learned in college. I became acquainted with Carl during my career with Springdale Wastewater Treatment facility. I greatly respected and admired him. He was a true gentleman and great professional. His contributions to environmental quality will always be remembered.
Among leaders in Fayetteville, I always wanted to be liked Carl, and I have always enjoyed sitting near him at Rotary Club meetings. My best regards to Sandy, and may all of you be blessed with God's comfort and grace.
