Leonard "Len" Henry Fosco's Obituary
Leonard Henry Fosco (Len) of Rogers, AR passed away on November 2, 2024.
Len was born on June 5,1930, in Peoria, IL to Joseph Andrew Fosco and Leona (Meyer) Fosco. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Dawn Lee Jones on October 18, 1952. They just celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary.
Preceding Len in death are his parents, one daughter, Lori Ann Fosco, a sister, Donna Rutherford and three brothers, Donnie, Joseph and Frank Fosco.
Surviving are: one daughter Lesli (Steve) Burkhead of Rogers, granddaughter Emily (David) Seifert, grandson Matthew (Katie) Burkhead, great-grandchildren Henry and Betsy Seifert and Buck Burkhead, all of Dallas.
Len attended Woodruff High School in Peoria, IL, where he was Captain of the 1949 football team and a member of the wrestling squad. He went on to have a 35-year career with Caterpillar Tractor Company, where he held various management positions in Sales, Marketing, and Parts Distribution. After retiring in 1986, he went to Ringhaver Equipment Company in Tampa , FL, where he was Vice President and General Parts Manager for 10 years. After moving to Bella Vista, AR, he was retained by Gregory Poole Equipment of Raleigh, North Carolina, to assist in their parts distribution expansion.
Len served 8 years in the 169th Fighter Squad of the Illinois National Guard. He was a long-time Master Mason of the Illinois Alta Lodge #758 and Shriner with the Springfield Abou Ben Adhem Temple and Neosho Shrine Club. Len also served on the Board of the Bella Vista Community Church, was a past member of the Bella Vista Townhouse Association, Bella Vista Fly Tiers and was active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Len enjoyed golfing, bass and fly-fishing, hunting, trap shooting, model railroading and attending his grandchildren many sports and activities.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Nelson Berna Funeral Home in Rogers. Placement of Len’s ashes will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Primrose Retirement Community in Rogers, AR.
