Leslie Alice White's Obituary
Leslie Alice White, the youngest of three children was born on April 30, 1944 to Vincent F. Bova and Matilda Angus Hammershmidt in Baltimore, Maryland. Leslie lived in Springdale, Arkansas, she passed away on December 18, 2024, at age 80. Following her graduation from Bladensberg High School in 1962, she worked as a secretary at NSA Fort George G. Meade where she met Merion Douglas White, her husband of 24 years. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and gardening while raising her three children. Starting in 1984, she worked at Escambia High School as a guidance counselor secretary in Pensacola, Florida. After retiring in March 2011, Leslie moved to Cedar Park, Texas and in 2014 to Springdale, Arkansas. In retirement Leslie enjoyed being with her dog Hamilton who she loved dearly and walked regularly. She enjoyed dinners with family, watching her grandaughters’ sporting events and performances. She enjoyed reading, shopping, cooking, baking, spending time with her family and taking care of her many plants. She was loved by her family and adored by her friends, she was quick with a joke, had an infectious laugh and was always available to listen. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. She will be missed dearly and we hold her in our hearts forever.
Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Vince Bova and her brother Pete Bova. She is survived by her children: Merion (Lori) Douglas White, Mark (Michelle) Vincent White, Cynthia (Pyar) White Anderson and her grandchildren: Madeline Alexandra White, Catherine Elizabeth White, Emily Nicole White, Mackenzie Abigail White.
