Lester Dale 'Rick' Richardson's Obituary
Lester Dale “Rick” Richardson, age 77, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 in Fayetteville.
He was born October 9, 1936 in Strickler, Arkansas to parents Wiley Burton Richardson and Leona Opal Paulk. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was retired from the University of Arkansas, and was a true Razorback fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Jean Richardson, and a sister, Sue Underhill.
He is survived by his children, daughter Patsy Chance and husband David, of Lowell, Arkansas; son Danny Hoskins, of Santa Clara, California; daughter Pam Stout and husband Bobby of Fayetteville; two brothers, W.B. Richardson and wife Joyce of West Fork, Arkansas, Hugh Richardson and wife Lois, of West Fork, two sisters, Fern Shea, of West Fork; Minnie Burnett and husband Tino, of Jay, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Ralph Underhill, of Hulbert, Oklahoma; grandchildren; Alyssa Fallen of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Shannon Dodgen and husband Danny, of Pensacola, Florida; Heather Fallen of Dallas, Texas; Dawn Sheppard and husband Joseph, of Winslow, Arkansas; Jonathan Hoskins, of Santa Clara, California; Sarah Huhn and husband Mike, of Springdale, Arkansas; Lauren Hoskins, of Santa Clara, California; great grandchildren; Courtney Helms, Brenden Blevins, and Brianna Dodgen, all of Pensacola, Florida; one great-great grandchild, Whitley Helms of Pensacola, Florida, and two more on the way!
Services are 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home Chapel with visitation to be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to start of services. Burial will follow at Mt. Salem Cemetery, Elkins, Arkansas. Military honors provided by the United States Navy Color Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Strickler Volunteer Fire Department.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home & Memorial Crematory, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
