Lillie Mae Hawthorn's Obituary
Lillie Mae (Foshee) Hawthorn, age 76, of Lowell, Arkansas passed away Saturday February 28, 2015 at Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born June 8, 1938 in Kildare, Texas to George and Dorothy Jelks Foshee. She was a member of Cross Church in Springdale. Lillie grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas and attended school there. She was one of twelve brothers and sisters and was very close to all of them. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ovid Mackey. She married Daniel W. Hawthorn September 8, 1957 in Hot Springs. She was a mother and homemaker most of her adult life. She was employed at Elgin, Oklahoma schools as a high school secretary from 1978 to 1984. Lillie enjoyed many years of serving in the college and career department at First Southern Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Lillie had a quiet gentle spirit and loved all people. She is now in a mansion prepared for her by her Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Daniel W. Hawthorn; two daughters, Sharon Hasenbeck and her husband Bob of Lowell; Gina Hawthorn of Denver, Colorado; one son, Steven Hawthorn and his wife Debbie of Elgin, Oklahoma; five sisters, Pauline Simmons and Faye Surratt both of Atlanta, Texas; Melba Ferden of Lufkin, Texas; Shirley Blake of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Darlene Wood of Stonewall, Oklahoma; five brothers, James Foshee and Ben Foshee both of Texarkana, Texas; Lavelle Foshee of Texarkana, Arkansas; Elmer Mackey of Sherwood, Arkansas; Willie Mackey of Malvern, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Heath Hasenbeck of Springdale; Aimee Hasenbeck Savre of Salem, Oregon; S. Tyler Hawthorn and Hannah Hawthorn both of Elgin, Oklahoma; Whitney Meader Little and Joshua Meader both of Denver, Colorado; three great grandchildren, Rowan Little of Denver; Hudson and Hayes Hasenbeck both of Springdale.
Visitation will be 10:00 am – 11:00 am Tuesday March 3, 2015 in the Chapel at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday in the chapel at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
