Linda and Jim lived down the street from us in San Antonio and Cindy was one of my close friends. Linda and my mom were such good friends, sharing laughter and a strong faith. She looked me up on Facebook several years ago and I was so grateful. So many memories of her, of Jim, of Cindy and Jimmy and Matt. We were so blessed at that time! I had no idea, none of us did, what was awaiting, after all the military actions Jim had been involved in. I loved her sweet and bright and funny spirit, her openness and acceptance. I was in contact with her by email for awhile but had not heard anything in a good bit so kept checking the news. My heart goes out to those left but I am grateful that such a beautiful, encouraging and laughing light is able to laugh again uninhibited and totally joyful. She was a delight! And a light.
Deepest condolences to the family. I met Jim and Linda at the D 1/5 Reunion in Branson in 2012. Going through my father's paperwork from 1966 is how I found them. I'm truly sorry for your loss but know that heaven is a greater place as she's reunited with Jim and her daughter. To not only a loving lady but a true warrior to the end for fighting ALS so long. Rest in peace.
When Linda moved to Arkadelphia during our sophomore year at AHS, we immediately "clicked" as friends. We had many classes together and enjoyed various extra-curricular activities together the remainder of our high school days until graduating in May, 1956.. Although she went to Ouachita & I went to Henderson, we still kept in touch for a few years and reconnected at class reunions in later years. She was such a lovely, kind person and I'll never forget those pretty dimples and smile. Our last visit was at her younger sister, Martha Jean's, graveside service in Hot Springs....her health was failing by then but she gave me a big hug and we said a tearful goodbye.....RIP my dear friend.
I was saddened to hear the news that Linda had passed. As former neighbors, we were always very fond of Jim and Linda. They were especially kind to our kids and wonderful people to be around. Linda always seemed to be a strong, independent woman despite some physical limitations. The world needs more like her. My condolences to the family.
Linda was one of first neighbor I met when I moved to Butterfield. She made me feel so welcomed. She was a wonderful friend to my sister-in-law, Nancy and they visited every Sunday. I think their friendship strengthen my friendship with Linda. We shared many stories and much laughter. My son, Sean, remembered her as the nice secretary at Woodland. Linda cast a wide net and I loved her. She was one of my heroes.
Awe, loved viewing this video...so many sweet family pictures. No doubt Aunt Linda's happiest days were those when she was in the presence of her family. She was a kind and loving Aunt, and I am grateful for my relationship with her and my cousins which she raised so well. Deepest condolences to you and your families, Jimmy & Matt. Love y'all and look forward to celebrating your Mom's life on Friday.

I always loved coming in after a shift and talking with you for an hour or two. You shared so much wisdom, truth, and love. I learned all about your life and you would always want to hear about mine. God has worked wonders throughout your life and He placed us both at Butterfield for a reason. I miss you and I love you dearly. I’ll see you again someday.

James and Matthew, your respective wives, children and grandchildren, all of you are in our Prayers during this time of loss. Linda will always be kept alive in my memories of her. I recall as a youngster attending her graduation from high school and the wonderful wedding ceremony when she and Jim did forever love each other 'til death did they part. Miles and years separated members of our family of cousins, but I was kept informed of Linda, Jim and their children by Grandma Ridgeway, Aunt Margaret and Uncle John, not to mention an occasional update provided by Uncle David. Aunt Margaret made sure that we knew Matt would be playing for Army in a nationally televised game. So, to make sure we honored that great event, my wife and I invited a house full of our friends to watch the game. Linda and I did speak via telephone several years ago about histories of the Ridgeway family illnesses. We spent an hour talking and that was my last time to visit with Linda. To me now passes the honor of being the oldest living cousin. I was always envious of Linda, Jean and Jane Anne for being older than me. Accept my most sincere condolences.
