Linda Lee Cassell's Obituary
Linda Lee (Weldon) Cassell, age 73, of Farmington, Arkansas, and longtime resident of Pittsburg, Texas, went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2022, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on December 8, 1948, in Gilmer, Texas, to Everett and Clarine (Tittle) Weldon. Linda graduated from Denison High School in 1967. She married her high school sweetheart Jerry Cassell on January 27, 1968. Linda attended East Texas State University where she graduated with a master’s degree in Education. She was a beloved teacher for 48 years working in elementary schools as well as teaching middle school and high school math. She absolutely loved anything sports related, traveling with Jerry, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda is survived by her husband, Jerry Cassell; son, Cory Cassell and wife Juliet, and their daughter, Kiersten, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas; daughter, Cari Jackson and husband Christopher, and their children: Mercy, Carson, Meadow, Melody, Mack, Hannah Claire, and Chip, all of Dallas, Texas; brother, Bill Weldon and wife Jo Ann of Snowflake, Arizona; and sister, Jo Beth Martin and husband Bob of Avalon, Texas.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Texas, with Pastor Kyle Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
