Linda Carol Parnell's Obituary
Linda Carol Parnell, age 78, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on August 28, 2025, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born on December 30, 1946, in Fayetteville, to Loy Caughman and Wilma Couch Caughman.
Linda graduated from Fayetteville High School and attended Central Baptist College in Conway before graduating from the University of Central Arkansas. She went on to earn her master’s degree in library science from the University of Arkansas.
She married Larry Parnell on March 11, 1972, at Calvary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Linda served as a public-school teacher for over 35 years, serving at numerous Washington County schools. She was also a devoted Bible Study Fellowship Leader.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Loy Caughman. She is survived by her husband, Larry Parnell; mother, Wilma Caughman; son, Lance Parnell and his wife Suzy, and their children, Courtney (Clay) Hammen, Kennedy (Austin) Wilson, and Landry Parnell; daughter, Lindsay Ramsey and her husband Hal, and their children, Drew Ramsey, Brooks Ramsey, and Barrett Ramsey; great-grandchildren, Hall and Stran Hammen; siblings, Sandy (Kenny) Bailey, David (Mabelee) Caughman, Kathy (Steve) Cox, and Doug (Carrie) Caughman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Cross Church in Springdale, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Cross Church in Springdale. A private burial will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Church Springdale Women’s Ministry, 1709 Johnson Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
