Linda Kathleen Peterson's Obituary
Linda Kathleen Peterson, age 69, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 surrounded by her loving family in Bentonville. She was born on August 3, 1951 in Bentonville to Charles and Betty (Haggard) Rakes. She is preceded in death by her father, her infant children, Charles, and Jennifer Peterson.
Linda was a born and raised Bentonville native. She graduated from Bentonville High School in 1970. She loved being outdoors and had fond memories playing outdoors with her Aunt Patsy. She shared her love of the outdoors with her children and grandchildren, creating new memories.
Linda had the biggest heart and a calming demeanor about her that allowed her to build relationships with people of all different backgrounds. She had a passion for bowling which she did for 25 years until she was unable to continue in 2017. In her later years she enjoyed driving to the casino to play cards. She had a lucky hand (some days) and built friendships with many of the people she met along the way.
Linda was an amazing cook and baker. Her family will miss her famous chocolate cinnamon sheet cake and “pink stuff”. Linda was the glue that held everyone together and will be sorely missed.
Linda is survived by her mother; Betty Rakes, children; Michelle Stockand and husband Robert of Bella Vista, TSgt Parker “Randy” Peterson and wife Amanda of Cabot, AR, the father of her children; Carl Peterson, grandchildren; Alexa, Gabrielle, and Emily Stockand, Tristan and Logan Peterson, sisters; Suzanne Thompson and husband Jimmy, Charlene McNelly and husband Kevin, and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held, Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home of Rogers from 5:00-7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, July 3, 2021 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bentonville at 10:30 AM.
