Lisa Deann Modisett's Obituary
Lisa Deann Modisett, age 57, passed away with her family at her side on Thursday, March 18, 2021. She was born on December 24, 1963, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Sherman Kent and Katherine (Davenport) Burnett. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Mary Baker Burnett of Huntsville, AR and Raymond and Crystal Wood Davenport of Crosses, AR.
She is survived by her parents, Kent and Katherine Burnett of Fayetteville; three children, Haley Modisett of Fayetteville, Collin Modisett of Dover, Ohio, and William Modisett of Beaumont, Texas; grandchildren Mack Jones of Fayetteville, and Nova Modisett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sisters, Lana Montgomery and husband Darin of Springdale, and Kendra Wheeler and husband Jay of Spartanburg, South Carolina; four nieces and nephews, Ty Montgomery, Liza Montgomery, Knox Griffin, and Morgan Magruder.
Lisa defined kindness, generosity, compassion, and gentleness. Always a creative soul, Lisa will be remembered by many for her artistic abilities and willingness to share those talents with others. A ready smile and a contagious laugh greeted friends and strangers alike as Lisa wanted only the best for those around her. Lisa was accepting of others regardless of their station in life, and her gentle nature ensured that others knew they were always welcome within her circle. Lisa had a great love for animals and could always be found with a small host of loyal pets.
Lisa graduated from Grapevine High School in Grapevine, TX in 1982. She received a full academic scholarship to attend Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, TX and later graduated from LeTourneau University with a degree in finance. She worked many years at GTE in Irving, TX and most recently at Chico’s in Little Rock, AR. Lisa spent the majority of her years raising her three children and then later helping with her grandchildren who knew her as Gemma. Lisa will be dearly missed by all those who loved her and were lucky enough to call her friend. We know that Lisa is now holding a novel in one hand and a paintbrush in the other as she enjoys time with all the puppies.
A private family graveside service will take place at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Crosses.
