Born in Liberty, Texas, to Max and Dorothy Reynolds, Lisa's curious mind and love for literature were evident from an early age. She cherished books like Nancy Drew, Little House on the Prairie, and To Kill a Mockingbird, which sparked a lifelong passion for reading. A diligent student, she was educated in Abilene,Texas, where her academic achievements earned her a full scholarship to the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. While there she studied literature, politics, and economics. It was at Sewanee where she met her future husband, Robert Sharp. After graduation, they moved to Fayetteville, beginning of a new chapter in her life.
In 2006, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening Nightbird Books. This bookstore quickly grew into a hub for creatives and readers, fostering a community spirit and serving as a venue for numerous local events. Her dedication to supporting local business extended to helping establish Fayetteville’s Independent Business Alliance. Lisa's impact on Fayetteville was so profound that mayor Lioneld Jordan recognized her contributions by declaring February 31st 2020 as 'Nightbird Books Day,' a testament to her influence and the legacy she left behind. A keen advocate for justice, she worked tirelessly to make her city more inclusive and equitable for all.
Lisa is survived by her children Reynolds, Elizabeth, and Henry; her sisters Rebecca and Mary; her daughter-in-law Chloe; and her grandson Max. She was an exceptional cook, an avid traveler, and a tireless volunteer at Washington Elementary School.
