Lloyd A. "Buddy" Diebold's Obituary
Lloyd A. “Buddy” Diebold, Jr. passed away May 22, 2024. He was born January 9, 1939 in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, son of Velma and Lloyd Diebold, Sr.
Buddy graduated from Hickory Ridge High School and the University of Arkansas where he was president of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and a member of the student senate.
A long-time resident of Wynne, Arkansas, he was in the insurance business, served on the city council, and was mayor of the city of Wynne for one term. He was a member of Wynne Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir.
After moving to Branson, Missouri, he and his wife established Branson Music Tours, bringing in groups from all over the Continental United States, Hawaii, Canada, the United Kingdom and Japan. He was active in the Branson tourism industry and served as president of the Branson Receptive Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Janice Farrell, Paula Anderson and Nancy Welch, one brother Robert Thomas Diebold, and his son Lloyd A. “Laddy” Diebold, III.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jo Best Diebold, daughters Libby Davis (Scott) and Laura Covington (Hughes), one sister Thelma “Doll” Johncox, grandchildren Jackson Diebold (Shelby), Barrett Diebold, Wally Davis (Kaylee), Wyatt Davis, Ella Claire Ward (Caleb) and Leslie Covington (McKenna), along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 30, 3:00pm in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, at Viney Grove United Methodist Church.
