Lloyd L. Caldwell Sr.'s Obituary
Lloyd L. Caldwell, Sr. of Lowell, Arkansas passed away peacefully on December 18, in the year of our Lord 2023. At his passing Lloyd was surrounded at home by the love of his family and friends. He was born in Dalton, Georgia on October 23, 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred Preston Caldwell and Gertrude Harris Caldwell, and his brother Alfred P. Caldwell, Jr. and sister-in-law Mary Ann Caldwell, all of Rome, Georgia.
Lloyd served his country proudly in the United States Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California. After his service he returned home to Rome, Georgia where he began his career with Inland Container Corporation. He stayed with Inland for 39 years until his retirement. During those years, he moved from Rome to Newark, Delaware and finally to Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1978.
Lloyd had a life-long passion for fishing. It was a passion he shared with his sons and a multitude of friends, and it took him all over North America in search of “whoppers.” He caught more than a few, competitively and for sport, and could tell you about many more.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Janice L. Caldwell. He is also survived by his sons, Lloyd L. (Beau) Caldwell, Jr, and Sydney C. Caldwell, both of Lowell, Arkansas. His family would like to express their gratitude to all the health care professionals at Mercy Hospital, Rogers, Arkansas and Circle of Life Hospice skilled and compassionate care.
A memorial service will be held at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Rogers, Arkansas on January 26, 2024, At 1:00 PM followed by an inurnment at Fayetteville National Cemetery at 2:30 PM in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
