Loania Levond Burns' Obituary
Loania Levond Burns, born on November 29, 1934, in Heber Springs, Arkansas, peacefully departed from this world on March 26, 2024, at Innisfree Health and Rehab, Rogers, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Jeff and Birl (Williams) Mahon.
Loania graduated from Gravette High School in 1952. Enlisting in the US Navy on December 1, 1952, she completed her recruit training in San Diego, California, on January 31, 1953. Displaying dedication and aptitude, she graduated from storekeeper school and was stationed at the US Naval Station in Long Beach, California.
On March 5, 1955, Loania married the love of her life, Max Burns, with whom she shared 64 years of cherished marriage until his passing in 2019. Together, they created a lifetime of beautiful memories, including adventurous travels out west to New Mexico.
After her honorable service in the Navy, Loania embarked on a successful career with Southwestern Electric Power Company (Swepco), retiring after 22 years.
Throughout her life, Loania found solace and strength in her faith, as a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Rogers. She actively contributed to her community by serving in the church nursery and lending her voice to the choir.
Loania's life was marked by her passion for literature; she was an avid reader who found great joy in exploring the world through books.
Loania was preceded in death by her husband, Max, her parents, Jeff and Birl, and her brothers, Roy and Paul Mahon. She is survived by her brother, Att Mahon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Loania's life will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Benton County Memorial Park.
