Loma B. Cates' Obituary
Loma B. Johnson Cates, 100 of Farmington passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Fayetteville. She was born February 5, 1913 in Blackburn Community, Arkansas the daughter of Alfred and Daisy Potter Johnson.
She married Claude L. Cates in 1930 and was preceded in death by her husband in 1968 and her son, Delmar L. Cates in 2006. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland and Oscar Johnson and three sisters, Mabel, Gladys and Ruby Johnson.
Loma loved gardening, flowers and cooking for anyone who was hungry. She retired form Levi-Straus after 29 years; then, moved to Farmington after selling the family farm
Anyone who knew her loved her and she will be missed dearly.
She is survived by two sons, Gerald and Loren Cates both of Farmington; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7PM on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 1:00PM, Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Blackburn Cemetery
