Lora E. Jones' Obituary
Lora E. Jones, age 96, of Fayetteville passed away Saturday April 9, 2011 with her beloved family by her side. She was born August 21, 1914 in Mulberry, AR; to William F. and Sarah Reynolds Carnes. She was a member of the Holcomb Street Church of Christ in Springdale, retired from Levi Strauss after 35 years of service. She was president of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union of America Local 350. She was involved in arts and crafts, belonged to a quilting club and was a volunteer at the VA Hospital for 10 years. Her favorite activities were camping and fishing with her family which she did several times in the summer, she also loved to travel with her husband Tommy Jones in their RV. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walker Bailey, two sons, Allen W. Bailey and Jerry L. Bailey, one sister, four brothers and several great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Jones; daughter in law Peggy A. Bailey of Fayetteville; three sisters, Norma Laudermilk of Lee’s Summit, MO; Hazel Kosh of Harrisonville, MO; Ruth Allred of Freeman, MO; one brother, Bill Carnes of Springdale, AR; four grandchildren, Steve Bailey and his wife Vicky; Bryan Bailey and his wife Gina; Casey Bailey; Andy Bailey and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Tuesday April 12, 2011 at Moore’s Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Moore’s Chapel with burial at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayetteville.
